Both life
And death,
Hold me in their grasp.
Neither one deciding
Which wants me most.

Calmly life passes
Around me.
I watch in comfort
From my front row seat.

A strange silence
Closer to insanity,
Rather than sound
Accompanies me.

And deaths breath
Akin to the silence,
Lies heavy in the air.
Its pleasantly eerie.

I quietly sit
Watching and waiting,
For either hand
To lose its grip.

Both life
And death
Hold my thoughts.
Both alluring
Both a daydream.
