I once thought you lost, back when I lay the gravedigger to rest and the pad collected dust upon the shelf.
But, it seems you were concealing yourself from me.
How often have you visited me on those cold dark nights, your breath warm on the back of my neck; whispering slyly in my ear?
I saw you last night for the first time in nearly two years. Your words coming to me through the gravedigger. You�re scrawling, ghastly words etching themselves into the paper. I saw, and I knew that it could only be you.
How long have you been hiding in the shadows of my mind?
I cannot say I am happy to see you, I had almost forgotten you. You�re malicious words no longer haunting my every waking moment; you�re spiteful voice no longer keeping me awake at night.
I can only just hold back the tears as I say this to you: you�re no more a part of me now than you ever were, you are as you always have been;
just a silent shadow of a man.
