Heaven In The Mist
Poetry Page
Emotion leads me astray.
Enticing me with its wonder
It leads me to a cliff
And says
Look down there,
Heaven waits,
Problem is
To get there
(Theres no just jumping down.)
You have to walk along
This pebbled path,
Barefoot.

Emotion leads me astray.
Enticing me with wonder
It leads me to this path
And says
So here we are,
But the journey has just begun.
Remember: Heaven waits.
Problem is
To get there
You must swim across the sea,
Naked and alone.

Emotion leads me astray.
Enticing me with wonder
It leads me across the sea
And says
Nearly there now,
Remember: Heaven Waits.
Problem is
To get there
You must climb back
Up that cliff.

So I climb the cliff
And look back down.
Emotion says
I give you
Heaven in the mist.
