| PRESENT DAY RESEARCH IN INDIA | |||||||||||
| People in India generally always cling to a particular syllabus/area and hence research in Bioinformatics is still at the infant stage. The interest for interdisciplinary research policy will actually help this field to grow. They fight for rights in a particular subject and say that contribution for the growth of the field is due to them only and don't entertain others and thus, many of them do not have a open mindedness amongst them. This proves a fatal threat for the growing subjects like Bioinformatics. The Centre for Bioinformatics at IISc bangalore is doing a good work in Bioinformatics. The other institutes which are actively catering towards the R&D activity in Bioinformatics are University of Pune, Jaypee Institute of Technology(JIIT Noida), IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, etc.. Apart from the Universities and Institutions, Industrial contribution is more for the growth of Bioinformatics. |
