You mean, it’s NOT better to be a second rate superpower than a X*nth third world country?
They were only a "superpower" because they stole the bomb, (and any other technology they could get their hands on). Look at the difference between East Germany and West Germany and you get the difference that I am talking about.
*IF* Russia wasn’t Communist for 70 years they wouldn’t have been near the bottom of the list.
