Why don't you blame the United States for China's economic circumstances? I  would guess because it is clear that *China* is responsable for *their*  economic situation... as is the *RP* (and it's Rulers)

Gary, Gary, Gary,

I wasn't aware that China was in dire economic straits at the end of WW2, but that is of little matter since China was an established culture/country centuries before WW2. On the other hand, RP was but a  "BABY"  and we all know what happens to a baby left to fend for itself in the wild ( and no,  it does not grow up to become Tarzan)

> I guess you don't want to blame the "pesionados" for their greed, but American greed is fine to blame... I gess that is where we differ!

Wrong, I blame them every bit as much. Too bad they didn't have that Nazi Germany mentality, where they put the country first.

> Look, it's real simple, if you want to be an *independent* nation (as the Filipinos *wanted to be*) even before Americans arrived in Manila Harbor why blame the other parties for deals your government made? The government of  the RP is and has been responsible for the economy of the RP since independence, that Filipinos have mismanaged it (or succeeded) should be credited to Filipinos not Americans. Yes, I recommend that you don't get  fooled again! But if you *do*... it will again be your *own* fault.

OK, Gary,  here's your big chance to tell SCFers all over the world  "How to do it right!" What does RP need to do? You must know a few historical success stories that could work in RP. Thanks anyway for your input.

Toodles,

Steve
