Christchurch primary school, 1940- Evacuated to 1) Coed Poeth, North Wales, then 2) Formby, Lancashire- Homesick each time. Came home in time for the May 1941 Liverpool Blitz. Cyril Oldfield, Billy Treble A..C.F. camps at Walney Island & Bordon,Hants. 1943- Merchant Taylors Crosby 1948- Walton Hospital, Liverpool Tech Coll. Picton Hall, Picton Library, Jazz Club, Miniature scores for Philharmonic concerts. Hypnotism evenings. Northern Amateur Players, Waterloo. Golden Goose cafe, Waterloo. Tony Ramos. 1953- National Service at 25 bty 17 TRRA Oswestry. Tom Dalgleish. Married Hazel in St Asaph, North .Wales in June. 1955- Son Charles born a few days before I arrived home, having arranged leave for the birth 1956- Joined Pearl Assurance in Waterloo in May. Recalled for Suez crisis in August- released December I was in Folkstone when my daughter Susan was born on September 3rd. Bill and Kath Kerr ( moved to Australia) 1960s- Brownmoor Lane, Crosby - Gayton - West Kirby. 1963- son David born- I actually made it to this one! 1970s- Regulars at the Black Horse folk club, West Kirby. The Hooters- Tom, Arty, Rob and Doug. |

| ON FATHER`S SIDE- [father- William Dickinson Ashton] AUNTS Cissie.Sally, Daisy, Louie. All at Picton Cottage Waterloo. Sister-in-law Betty Ashton (widow of my elder brother Fred)) and cousins Billy and Vivian Ashton - all living in Lancaster, England. ON MOTHER`S SIDE- [mother Jessie Maud Ashton (nee Stephens)] AUNTS Lottie,(Clarke) and daughter Pamela (went to Canada), Evelyn (Bennett), daughters Muriel & Audrey, son Barrington. Also Aunt Winnie (whom I remember had at least one son). All lived on the Wirral There must be a few nephews and nieces scatterd about. Please get in touch.
