Now, there are the myths that say vampires go as far back as Caine, and some believe that Caine Is the father of Vampires. And sad to say, but there are Vampire cults that believe this to be true. They call themselves the kindred... and in recent times it has become a role playing game, and even a tv series for a short time. But I assure you, there are wacky cults that believe in this. With it is a very long history, many different clans: The Nosferatu, Brujah, Ventrue, Toreador, and Gangrel. these are the five main clans, with many more clans. But they all believe in the dark history, and in the end are all followers of Cain. Different clans have different beliefs in the history, I guess different religions. Here is an exerpt from "The book of Nod" the 'belief' of how the Vampire began:
"To clarify about myself, I am a non-blood-drinking vampire. I have strong psychic abilities, and get what I need that way. Some non-vampire friends of mine who know about blood-drinkers, ask me how I can look past the fact that some people I know do drink blood and remain friends with them since I don't understand, nor practice, blood-drinking. I tell them that I may not do it myself, and it's true - I don't understand the need - however, I am not here to judge people who are not hurting anyone else. If these same blood-drinkers began causing harm to other people or animals, then yes, I would end that friendship, just as I would any other. The term vampire is one that is at the root of much controversy these days, because after all - we are not the vampires most have grown up seeing in movies and reading about in literature. In fact, "vampire" may very well be the wrong word for what and who we are, but as of this moment, it is the term we use when describing ourselves and others like us. It's a term that many would like to lay claim to: Goths, wannabes, gamers, and what has thus far been coined "real vampires". These real vampires are what this site is about. Althought this site deals little with blood-play/blood-drinking, and mainly caters to psivamps, all are welcome here - vampire, non-vamps, occultists, and those just interested in learning more."
