Wednesday, think there should be school right? NO. Since there is a water shortage in Taiwan, the following day, basically Tuesday, we were told that we were going to get Wednesday off. That was so COOL. Well before I continue I think I'd need to mention that ever since 5/13 I've been waking up at odd hours. I believe I woke at 4AM on Wednesday, and did that on Tuesday too. Then it became like 2AM on Thursaday and Friday. I don't remember as strong as before I just knew I woke up earlier and earlier which led to my sickness, I'll cover that in a future entry.
May 15, 2002- OPERATION: PHONE CALL
Anyways about Wednesday. After I woke up I was like full of energy or so. I had to do something, and since it was really early and I had energy I had decided I wanted to do a little jogging. I got all my gear ready. Changed into my Nike pants and shirt, took out the little clip on bag and placed my wallet and keys, I was gonna take cell, but got to heavy. I then took a bottle of water and I like set out at around early 6AM. The sun was up and the air not so humid so I thought it wouldn't be too hot. Well I started to jog, went from the back, came out from next to the river. Continued straight and made my way out to the road that took me to Tien Mu Park. I was actually tired by then, what a weakling I was. I made my way down into the park. I saw lots of old ppl doing Tai-Chih and stuff, some ppl doing exercise. I can't believe I was doing this though. I was a bit proud of myself cause I was doing something I wouldn't have thought I would do. Anyways after I got to the end of the park. I stopped and did some stretching and bending. I also took out the bandana from Field Day and tied it around my head. I then continued up and left the park. Pretty soon I reached this bend that I was familer with. I was then I found out I got to the start of the hiking place that we always had when I was a freshman and sophomore. I started to climb up the stairs really strong thinking I was all that, but like after less than a minute I was already dog-tired. But I didn't give up, I kept dragging my dead beat of a body, not a pretty sight. I swear I never went thru that kind of pain in such a long time, I mean after sophomore year too. Still I contiuned. It was one hell of a track. I know I passed the 1500km mark or whatever, actuallyI think that was indicating the number of steps I took. Well After I got up to Yang Ming Shan I basically went down hill from there. It was faster I'm sure, but my right arm was in so much pain, I don't know why, it ached like crazy if I ran too fast. Still I was able to find my way out of the moutains. It was actually truely beautiful up on the top that early in the morning. Well I reached the end which was basically up on the bus circle. I passed like my bro's violin place and stuff. I walked down anyways looking at the early morning streets of Tien Mu. Very little cars, buses still waiting, students running to catch bus. Very little cars and ppl, very rare to see. I continued down and pretty soon I got to the bend where I could go to Yasu's home. I decided to pay him a visit. I went to the convience store across his home and called him. His mom picked up the phone and I think Yasu was still asleep. So when I talked to him he was like half asleep. I thought he'd be awake mong study for his APES later that day, but I forgot he is suppose to take it at 1PM, so he could wake up late. Well he called me a mong guy for doing the jog and stuff. I wished him the best of luck and walked to school. When I walked to school it was dark, and I went to my locker and dropped of the empty water bottle. I then left school and went to buy breakfast for my bro and dad. When I got home I found out they were all still asleep. That is truly wtf. O well, my dad said he was like proud of what I did. Wow as you can see none of this had to do with my girl problems, but actually it does. I was like so thinking so much about her I thought by going through this pain and stuff I'd prove that I am worthy enough and stuff. You won't believe as of now I think all I did is shit, what I did is shit. Sad huh. Too bad I didn't see any of it coming. Anyways after breakfast my dad left for work and now my mission starts. Before this all Kwok had called telling me that both he and I were going to watch Spiderman later that day. He even suggested that I go ask the girl to come along. I believe it was around 10:45AM when I got the guts to go along with this. I even had my bro use his MP3 player to tape the conversation, cause I thought I'd be talking to the girl and I could record her voice. Man was I wrong. Here's the dialogue that I talked to with her MOM!

*RING* *RING* *RING* *RING*
mom- hello
me- hi, excuse me but is this the Liu residence?
mom- yes
me- O, excuse me but is Catherine at home?
mom- who are you
me- I am a classmate
mom- Is there any problem?
me- I just want to ask her a question
mom- She is resting right now
me- O no need to interupt then
mom- O that is all, what is your name so I can tell her.
me- my name is....huh
mom- when she wakes up I'll tell her
me- actually on Monday I asked her to go to the Prom so I'm like a date, sort of
mom- O
me- so she probably doesn't know because when I told her that day I completely forgot to mention my name, so it's embarassing for me.
mom- what is your name
me- my name is Jason Chen
mom- Jason Chen
me- C-H-E-N
mom- O Jason Chen, ah so you are a 12th grader
me- uh yea senior
mom- ok Jason Chen ok
me- phone number is 2871-
mom- O you want her to call back
me- o no need really actually later I'll be going out
mom- ok bye.

All that is a one minute and 30 second conversation. After I heard the recording I just feel so disgusted with my voice, my Chinese sounded so crappy too.

Above- After my fool-hearty feat of jogging up Yang-Ming Shan this is what happens. As you can see I worked up quite a bit of sweat. Also I like noticed how dog-tired my eyes look like. The corner of my eyes seems to look a bit dark. Kinda like what happens if you don't have enough sleep. All I know I'll never do something as crazy as that again.
