Welcome To The Rapid Rat TT500 Page.
Dedicated To Yamaha's 4-Stroke Off-Road Sensation- The TT500.
Yamaha introduced the TT500 in 1976. The bike featured Yamaha's new 500cc 4-Stroke single, which in stock trim put out 29 horsepower, with an amazing 40 ft. lbs. of torque.  In 1977 the suspension on the TT500 was lengthened and the down-pipe was replaced with an up-pipe. In 1979 the TT500 got an aluminum swingarm and leading axel front forks- with a differently shaped gas tank to accomadate the flat triple clamps. Apart from those few changes, the TT500 stayed pretty much the same through out it's 6 years in production.
