This is a 1976 TT500C, the official first year of production for the TT500. It is rumored that there were a few TT500s sold as model year 1975, however they were identical to the 1976 models. |

Changes for 1977 included 14.5" shocks and lengthened fork tubes, a drive chain tensioner, an up-pipe, a larger aluminum skid plate, and a kick indicator located on the end of the cam shaft. |

The 1978 TT500s were virtually the same bike as the 1977. The only changes were; the color, and the in 1978 the gas cap was changed. In '76 and '77 the TT gas cap was the same cap as the MX and SC series bikes. In '78 the cap was changed to an internal thread design and the tank was changed to accomadate the new style of gas cap. |
