 In the Ramayana story, Rahwana, King of the demons, captures Sita, the beautiful bride of Rama, to take her back to his Kingdom in Sri Lanka to become his bride. During his flight he is attacked by Jatayu,King of the vultures, who tries to rescue Sita. This is an old statue I purchased in Cirebon, Java. It is 28" tall. |
