This is a Balinese statue of a piece of the Ramayana story. Jatayu, king of the vultures and brother to Garuda, has been defeated by Rahwana, King of the demons,when Jatayu tries to rescue Sita from Rahwana's capture. He falls to earth but before he dies he is able to tell Rama and his brother Laksmana where Rahwana has taken Sita. This Statue is 41" tall. |
