Episode Nine
The Chosen One?
Jim is taken to the archaeological framework. He examines it, claiming he doesn't know what it is, but Astrid notices that he refers to it as a "Portal". He seems interested in it, but content that it stays on campus.
The gang continues the repairs on Steph�s house. They�ve put up security systems and metal doors. They buy a few weapons. . .and a pool table.
Johnny starts searching for info on the occult - on-line and in the library. He notices the names of Josh, Astrid, and Breanna on several books and decides to start checking the books they�ve been researching out.
While on Patrol, Stephanie discovers three vampires attacking someone, she is able to stake two of them and the third runs off.
Leroy�s Dad calls and says that he received a letter from a law office addressed to Leroy�s brother - who�s been dead for a few years. He hasn�t opened it. Leroy asks him to open it. It�s a letter from a lawyer about an estate or something. He also informs Leroy that he�s going out of town to visit his daughter's family for Thanksgiving. Leroy is welcome to join them but he declines.
Astrid and Josh take the night off and go to dinner and a movie. After dinner, they walk to the movie, but both have the feeling they are being watched. They then take in a bad Vampire movie, but have a really good time picking it apart. Johnny shows up at the theatre and goes over to talk with Josh and Astrid. Josh invites him to join them later at The Inferno where the gang has planned to meet.
As Johnny leaves he's followed. . .by something.
Stephanie�s Dad calls about Thanksgiving He seems upset. Her Mom is heard in the background fussing at him, then she takes the phone. Her Mom explains that most of the family isn't going to be together for Thanksgiving and it's upset Steph's Father.
Johnny roams the streets looking for some action. He see's a person skulking around and decides to follow. In an alley, Johnny finds a vampire hide-out and overhears evidence that the vampire's may be after Stephanie.
The group meet at The Inferno and discuss Thanksgiving. Realizing that none of them are doing anything, they decide to have dinner at Steph�s place. Johnny shows up and tells them what he overheard. They decide to check it out.
Back at the alley the gang discover an ambush. Outnumbered 2 to 1, they are still able to defeat the vamps with minimal damage to themselves. When a vampire named Anne surrenders, Josh wants to kill her anyway, but she swears she's never hurt anyone and in fact, she didn't partake in the ambush. She says that Stephanie was the target of the attack and seems to think she is The Slayer. Astrid is the only one of the group familar with the term, but doesn't believe Anne. Josh is talked out of killing her and Steph warns her to get out of town and not to come back.
Astrid requests all the info from experimenting done on the Framework. It becomes clear that the thing is designed to absorb energy - but not for what purpose - a physicist's notes suggest it requires a certain type of energy. But the type is allusive. It is also found to be a very tough, previously unknown, type of steel - something Native tribes did not possess.
Steph talks to Nick about Thanksgiving. He mentions that he isn�t going home because of the Serial Killer, but hints that he hasn�t had a home cooked meal in a long time. Steph invites him over for Thanksgiving. She tells him that they're going to watch the TN vs. L.A. game. Right before he leaves, he asks Steph out;
Epilogue: Steph makes it home and goes to bed. Dream flashes of black wings, Clawed, glowing-eyed demons, magick, and Jim appear.
