Technologies and hardware of the Lost Realm of Atlantis
Here are some of the things that you will find in Atlantis. I have tried to paint a picture of these items so that we all will be able to interact and role play on the same sheet of music.
The Realm in which Atlantis is found is a world of contradictions. You will find the styles and architecture of many cultures of the past Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Aztec all mixed with the more modern of technologies. Steel sliding doors, computer interfaces, freezing and cooling units, as well as electric lighting and cooking ranges. Weapons ranging from swords, bow and arrows, to engery pistols and canons. Even the collars of our slaves can be a simple band of hammers rivited steel to a metal hollowed collar that is locked and unlocked by computer commands and has tracking and stunning devices built into it's gold ot silver plated interior.
Coinage of Atlantis
1/10 th of a Crown..this is copper Crown that is cut into 10 equal pieces
1 copper Crown or a Crown...this is made up of 10 10ths of a Crown pieces
1 silver Nemo...This is made up of 100 copper Crowns
1 Gold Trident...This is made up of 50 silver Nemos
1 Gold Double Trident...This is equal to 10 Gold single Tridents
Weapons
Side arms :
Energy pistol: The standard sidearm with the Realm is a energy pistol. 12 inches long it weights 2.5 pounds it is capable of delivering a pulse of energy. The charge may be set low enough to stun a person, rendering them unconscious , or high enough to cause death and charring of combustible materials and flesh.
Conventional firearms: Even though there are more advanced weapons available. There are still many firearms that were either brought with people that traversed the warm hole, or copies reproduced for those that either wished to collect them or lacked the funds to purchase the more advanced energy weapons.
Edge weapons: Swords, knives, and daggers will still be seen and worn. While mostly for show and ceremony, they are still used in battle and for everyday task.
Long Arms or Battle weapons:
Energy rifles: These weapons are like their pistol counterpart functioning the same way. The difference being the shoulder stock , longer barrel, and a larger charge magazine. The shoulder stock and longer barrel giving these weapons more accuracy then their handheld counterparts.
Conventional firearms: Again like the automatic pistols and revolvers that were brought to the Realm and reproduced. Rifles and even a few shotguns are not uncommon especially with the poorer peasants and worker. There are even a few instances where automatic weapons or machine guns where brought to the Realm. But these weapons require special care to keep them maintained an working properly. Once they malfunctioned and stopped working, they usually were discarded and or destroyed so that others might not find and fix them.
Long bows and cross bows: Again while there are more modern weapons available. These old favorites are still about and used by those that can�t afford the more expensive weapons or need to use stealth because they can not afford the sound of a shot.
Transportation
Transportation within the Realm goes from one extreme to the other. The normal mode of transportation being either walking, traveling by horseback, or carts by land. Ships are still used upon the Neptune Sea for fishing , and sailing for pleasure and to maintain the old ways. But air travel is done by hover cycles, small single or multiple passenger craft , or the larger cruisers of the military or commerce design.
Hover cycles: These are small craft designed to carry one or two people riding in tandem. They also have enough power to haul a small load suspended under them. Roughly resembling a water jet ski from present Earth they have a have a energy canon mounted on each side of the craft�s nose. They are used predominately by the various Kingdom�s Guard to patrol and scout. They are capable of reaching speeds up to 40 mph and have a range of 150 kilometers
Hover craft: These craft range in size and style much like the automobiles of present Earth. They may be open topped or enclosed and seat 2 to 12 people depending on the size and set up of the craft. Larger enclosed craft may be set up to haul cargo or have living quarters in them. They have a cruising speed of 60 mph and a range of 200 kilometers or 8 hour of continuous flight before needing to be refueled as well as reach altitudes of 200 feet. Depending on the type of craft and it�s use, fore and aft energy canons may be mounted.
Cruisers: These are large craft are basically flying airships. The military versions coming in two classes light and heavy. Both classes are capable of reaching anywhere within the Realm and beyond. However all explorations beyond the known Realms have failed to return and have been presumed lost and destoryed.
Light battle cruisers are capable of caring a crew of 50 as well as 10 hover cycles. The have a the max speed of 60 mph. They are 150 meters long and 40 meter wide and have three decks. Their max cruising altitude is 200 feet with cruising time of 48 hours of flight time before having to sit down to have their engery cells recharged from a generator or solar panels.
Heavy Battle Cruisers are capable of caring a crew of 200 as well as 50 hover cycles. The have a the max speed of 80 mph. They are 350 meters long and 80 meter wide and have six decks. Their max cruising altitude is 300 feet with cruising time of 5 days of flight time before having to sit down to have their energy cells recharged from a generator or solar panels. Only two heavy cruisers remain in active service the Repulsor and the Defiant. Designed as a tool to instill fear in the Realm under the oppressive rule of King Liapos, a fleet of six heavy ships where built. After the fall of Liapos, and peace was established in the Realm, the Atlantis, the Liapos, the Khan, & the Raptor were sent on missions of exploration, one in each directions, none where heard from again.
Merchant Cruiser: Built to the same standards as a light battle cruiser. These air ships only require a maximum crew of 20 and all the space for troops and war supplies converted to haul cargo.
