Ungained
Shouldst Thou Imagine
Haunting dreams pursue my self,
Toturing memories of unsought love
With sweet auras around young faces
Of whom shall remain lost fore'er

Uncounted minutes in silent regret
Become hours of tumultous tossing
Amidst bedcovers warm yet vacant
Of truest desires unfilled wanting

Curs-ed time, how slip you off silent
Leaving mere semblance of shell intact
From echoes turned inward cowardly
Of life's import while distractions view'd

Places revisited enflamme horror's gain
Past friends and good times, family young
Where ere shall I find innocence anew
Of passionate cries for heroic pursuits

How precious this life, the ending and next
Untried journey in each persona's shoes'
Inside a mirror's review is plain
Of this man's steps and Heaven's pain
Shouldst thou imagine thy heart as tool or bargain,
For when broken
is there any recovery for what's spent?
When thy eyes are filled,
     sore and reddened,
is the spirit weary of rough travels encountered?

Nary a soul shall know thy torment,
     thy reckoning,
Ne'er to do well nor poorly
For high amongst mountain's peak
Clouds amass o'er twirling cascades of white

Hardly a spell is cast forlornly saddened
but rather cursed might to upset the balance
Where the blight is set upon stone's true face
all the while weathering weathering slowly away
