History

This is the SAGA of RAM.

One day, after a long football game, Keith was giving Mike a ride home and they decided to stop by Arby's. On the way there, Keith was talking to Mike about how it would be fun to get a band together and play for Homecoming. They both agreed that it would be awesome and decided to talk to Mr. Percy (the principal) about it. Unfortunately, the day they talked to him was the deadline for bands to sign up for the dance. It wasn't too bad though, because they had no drummer or singer, and they had about 3 weeks to practice if they did find one. So, they decided, they would get a band together for Saga.

Keith was looking around for people, and approached Pat Brent and Greg Ybos to be in the band. They both agreed and thought it would be a great idea. It was then that they suggested their friend AJ could be the singer. Everything was coming together.

RAM had its first practice at Pat's house and ran over songs like, Young Lust (Pink Floyd), Sleepwalk (Joe Satriani), YYZ (Rush), Wipe Out (The Surfaris), and Baba O'Riley (The Who). Unfortunately, no one knew all of their parts, seeing as it was the first practice, and AJ was unable to come, so there was no singer. But, the band seemed to play Baba O'Riley really well, and Wipe Out was alright too. The band scheduled another practice the next week. This time they went over songs like Day of the Eagle (Robin Trower) and discussed what songs they would work on.

Then, one day that week at school, they found out they had to submit a recording of their playing to the Saga coordinator. They immediately called for a practice that lasted about 5 hours, and they recorded Sleepwalk and Wipe Out and turned it in. That Friday the bands that were playing were announced, and RAM was not one of them. The band was somewhat disappointed, but figured, hey, we can get some really good songs together for next year, we have all summer. Until, Keith found out from one of the other band's members that they were in fact playing. Keith went to the Saga coordinator and asked if it was true. They WERE playing. The Saga Coordinator thought that RAM had a recording of the song they covered playing in the background because it sounded too much like the original. They were just that good. Keith informed the band, and they decided they really had to practice.... They decided that YYZ couldn't be pulled together in time, and searched for easier, but rocking songs. Keith decided Paranoid (Black Sabbath) would be easy, and so would You Really Got Me (The Kinks). So the band practiced hard for the next week and a half. Then, while watching Pulp Fiction, Keith heard the song Miserlou, and decided they had to do it, he brought it in to practice one day, and the rest of the band seemed to like it, so it was added to the list.

Finally, after only 13 practices, Saga had come... They were pretty confident that they would do well. They had their setlist all thought up, it was:
Day of the Eagle- Robin Trower
Wipe Out- The Surfaris
You Really Got Me- The Kinks
Sleepwalk- Joe Satriani
Paranoid- Black Sabbath
Ram Jam- An original jam that the band vamped to make up for time
Miserlou- Dick Dale and the Del-Tones
and Baba O'Riley- The Who
The dance was a hit, RAM went on first, followed by Serenade and then Anonymous.

RAM stuck together and decided to practice for more gigs/dances, adding songs that they couldn't put together before due to lack of time. Unfortunately, Greg left the band to form a new band where he would be the drummer, leaving the lineup:
AJ Ruiz- Vocals and Rhythm Guitar
Mike Miceli- Bass Guitar
Pat Brent- Drums
and Keith Stewart- Lead Guitar/Keyboard
Then RAM got to play at Sadie Hawkins. It was supposed to be Anonymous the Trio and RAM playing in the CAC, but since the dance had no DJ for the cafeteria, Cory and Chase from Anonymous said they would dj it. RAM was the only band playing. It was a pretty big gig. The band played about 20 songs. After that, RAM was asked to play at Saga 06. Greg returned to the band, and RAM went full throttle into practicing new songs for Saga and writing new original.
