Medical Panniers |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
There were a number of different types and sizes of medical panniers used by the RAMC during WWII. The main size was originally a pre-WWI design, for use with Pack Mules. This is why most types are in numbered pairs, for balance on the mule. Also, there are a pair of fixing chains attached to the back panel, which also slopes backwards to assist in fitting onto a Pack Saddle. These chains were not, as is sometimes stated by others, for fitting to parachutes!! On this page you will find links to some of the different types of panniers. I will try to include any contents lists I have. If you have any that I am lacking, please contact me. |
