Halocaust Memorial

Holocaust Memorial Letterbox

The Oregon Holocaust Memorial, dedicated in 2004, serves as a permanent reminder of the Holocaust, where millions of Jews were systematically murdered by the Nazi government of Germany from 1933 to 1945. Many others were murdered because of their political or religious beliefs, physical and mental disabilities, sexual orientation, or assistance to the persecuted. By teaching the Holocaust and visiting the Memorial, there is hope that a bright light can come out of the darkness of history.

The Memorial is located in Washington Park below the Rose Garden. Directional signage is found near the reservoir as you travel toward the Rose Garden from SW Park Place. Please respect the atmosphere of this memorial and be respectful as you search for this box.

Clues: Park in the upper parking lot and walk down to the memorial. Be sure you see all the details. We found the bronze pieces on the walkway incredibly touching. Walk around the memorial, stopping to read the names and the story. From the point where more than memories are buried, look straight into the trees. There is a gap in the bushes through which you should see a cluster of small trees. On your way back to the car there is a path to your right. Take the path. Before you reach the steps, you should find the same cluster of trees you saw before. In the midst of that cluster is the Holocaust Memorial Box. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE SHORTCUT THROUGH THE BUSHES. That would be incredibly disrespectful to the memorial and to those that are there to pay tribute to those that died.

Please email us and let us know that you got this box. Sometimes this pays off for the finder as well.

Happy Boxing,
Team Nashoba
