| Description: The Albino breed, also known as American Cream, started in 1937 in Nebraska. The founding sire was called Old King who was a Arab/Morgan. All of his foals were mostly white with pink skin. He was used with a herd of Morgan mares to make a breed entirely composed of white horses. The Albino is mainly a color definiton more than a breed, though all of them do have certain characteristics. There are many different influences on the American Cream. Some are American Quarter Horse, Morgan, English Thouroughbred and Arabian. They are very smart, learn quickly and can be trained easily. They are used in films and the circus because of their excellent ability to train so easily. White horses have always been considered beautiful and were ridden by royality and generals. There are often white horses in stories that are magical. These beautiful horses are hard to breed because not all white horses have whtie foals. |

| Facts: ~The American Cream stands about 15.1 hh. ~They are often used in circuses. ~Caleb and Hudson Thompson founded the breed using their horse Old King. ~There are four color combinations that are acceptable: ivory body, light mane, blue eyes, pink skin. or cream body, darker mane, cinnamon colored skin, and dark eyes. or both body and mane same color cream, pink skin, and blue eyes. or both bod ~they are usually very stocky, well muscled with a broad chest, deep girth, sloping croup, strong straight legs, heavy crested neck, thick, long and wavy mane and tail, broad between the eyes, well shaped ears, intelligent and gentle. sent in by Spaz ~Old King contracted swamp fever in 1922 and eventually passed away from its effects in 1924 at age 18. sent in by Spaz ~one of old kings foals portrayed Thunderhead in the movie of the same name. sent in by Spaz ~White Wings was the star performer in the Thompson's White Horse Troupe and knew about 50 tricks and hesired 108 foals, all but three being white. sent in by Spaz ~They usually weigh 1,100 - 1,300 lbs sent in by Spaz ~They do not go deaf or blind or loco. They have great strength and athletic ability. With good care they have been known to live into their thirties and on occasion into their early forties.
