My name is Ryan Marcengill, and this is Canvyss. Canvyss is my personal art portfolio featuring some of my favorite works. I am currently studying Graphic Design with a focus in Animation and 3D Modeling, but I wasn't always a graphic artist. Before pursuing a career in animation, I was studying Civil Engineering and Architecture. I was always passionate about design, but I never felt like engineering was the right field of study for me. I was not interested in what I was studying, and I felt like I was about to waste the next 30 years of my life doing something I didn't enjoy. Eventually, I found a passion for animation as it's a niche field in design focused on motion. My art style varies from impressionist paintings, pop art, to a bit of neoclassicism, but my drawings stem from my previous knowledge in science and art. Since I have some years under my belt in civil engineering and architecture, I like to focus on landscape and architectural illustrations. I'm also a huge history buff, so I also work on illustrations with historical context involved. I currently just draw anything that comes to mind, and I'm still working on finding my own style. Ideally, I would like to work on album art and animated music videos for musicians, but since I'm still new in this field, I'm open to try anything with my current skills.
