| Type: Fantasy / Action Animation: 2/5 Plot: 3/5 Dubbing: 2/5 Violence: Harsh Nudity: None Personal comments: The series is a spin off of the original Lodoss war series. I love this series but I had to give it low marks. The dubbing is really pertty awful, the english voice actors really did a crappy job, and so did the person who edited the thing because the voices almost never line up with the characters lip movments. The character drsigns are rally good but the artist seems to have a problem drawing side views, and noses. As a result the characters end up with really big chins or noses at times. Also they have a habit of "Freez framing" the animation. You don't usually notice it the first time you watch the show but if you rewatch it, the freezing gets annoying. (I love fantasy anime) so i didn't see anything wrong with the plot but most people say there is nothing exceptional about it. |

| Type: Fantasy / Comedy / Adventure Animation: 2/5 Plot: 3/5 Dubbing: 3/5 Violence: Harsh Nudity: None (I have only seen the first tape in the series though and from what I understand the girls magical transformations are a tad revealing) Personal Comment: The animation is this series just isn't what I would call gerat. Everything else is average. I might have been a little hard on this anime series (I've only seen 3 episodes) because I read the manga and the art and plot are just so much better in the books. |

| Type: Fantasy / Action Animation: 4/5 Plot: 4/5 dubbing: 2/5 Violence: Harsh Nudity: Prolonged Personal Comment: Wow! this series is way better than it's made for TV counter part! The plot line is completly different than the comic books, but the characers are wonderfuly drawn and the series is totaly action packed! It's way darker and more violent then the made for TV series but compared to some anime series I'd say the blood and guts level is with in PG 13 standards. The plot line is however a little hard to follow, at least it is in the dubbed version, and if you can't stand Cardcaptors because of all the flash back scaens they do, then you may get annoyed with this series. I think I might make A separate page for the OAV (original animated version) in the future. This series proves that the original is always better. |

| Type: Fantasy / Action Animation: 3/5 Plot: 3/5 Dubbing: 4/5 Violence: Harsh Nidity: Scant Clothing (like in one part where Deed's clothes get pretty ripped up otherwise none) Personal Comment: Yah if you are going to watch the Lodoss series starting with the first one would be a good idea, because then the second series will make a whole lot more sense. Actually though a person who has watched the first series will still suffer some confusion in the transition between the original series and the Chronicles. The plot lines of the two series don't completly mesh, it seems the writers decided to rewrite a few things in the second series. The animation in the original series is also better than the second series. It's an older style of animation but much better done than the newer animation used in the Chronicles series. This series has my personal okay so check it out, if your a Lord of the Rings fan you'll love it. |
