| BACKGROUND: The computer center is owned and managed by Persons With Disability who have technical skills in the field of computer works. The center was made possible thru the support of Japan Church World Services (JCWS) thru the Agape Center, a Non Government Organization (NGO) based in Japan. They believe that we have the skills and determination to become independent and productive citizens of the society and be an inspiration to others. From August to October 2000, one of the member of Ability Computer Center has undergone an extensive training on Social Welfare Services and Computer Technology which was sponsored by JCWS thru its Agape Exchange Program. The training has helped a lot with the day to day operation of the center. OBJECTIVES: to sustain a decent income and attain economic independence and become a productive citizen of the society; to gain self-esteem and to ensure that every Person With Disability gains his/her right to his own living arrangement; to highlight the skills of Persons With Disability in Computer Business and become competitive in the fast developing technology; to provide quality computer services to the community. |
