The Week of March 25
March
25: Rafe stares at the painting intently, and Alison remarks that its weirding
her out that he's looking at her like they're long lost friends. Alison asks
if he knows her. Did he meet her in heaven? Rafe says that he's just admiring
the portrait, he doesn't know Rebecca. He covers for his behaviour and asks
what happened to Rebecca, why is she been stuck in the attic. Ali says that
her family rarely ever talked about her, it was always a whisper. Once she asked
her grandfather and he told her that some things are better off not knowing.
She says that Rebecca probably died in the 1800's. Alison says that she's going
to get something ready to eat and leaves Rafe alone with the painting. To himself
he remarks how it looks so much like Paige. Rebecca Smith Barrington- Paige's
last name is Smith which means that Alison and Paige are connected. He remembers
having a "funny" feeling when he confronted the angels in the park,
seeing Ali's name in the book in his dream and he realizes that that has to
be it. Paige wants to take Alison back with her! She wants Alison to fill the
5th chair!
He
wonders why Paige didn't say anything about a connection to the Barringtons,
she knew he was in love with Alison. (actually she didn't know until the same
episode via Lucy and Kevin in London) Rafe starts to tell Rebecca/Paige that
she can't have Alison, she can't take her back! Alisons creeps in and asks who
he is talking to, it sounded like he was talking to Rebecca like she used to.
He covers his tracks saying they were talking about her and how great she is
and how lucky they are. Rafe says that Rebecca thinks its late and they should
come back some other time. He really pushes to leave the mansion, but Alison
wants to show him around. He screams at her that they have to go, NOW!
She
says that something is wrong and going on. He denies it, but she thinks otherwise.
Rafe says that he just wants to get out of there. He doesn't want to share her
with anyone and wants to spend all her time with him. He reminds her that they
don't have a lot of time left and he doesn't want to live in the past. She says
that they can go home and get romantic with candles and music... and a naked
man. :) Rafe says that they can't go back, and says that it would be great if
they could just disappear in the time they have left. Just them. He asks her
to run away with him. Alison gets excited and agrees. Before they are about
to leave she returns to the portrait and says goodbye for now, promising to
return. She reminds the painting of their history and says that she has her
own love now and she doesn't need to share it with anyone. They head out the
door, but Rafe lingers behind. To himself he says that Alison doesn't need to
worry because he's going to make that Paige comes no where near her.
March
27: Rafe wakes up on the floor of the barn and realizes that Ali is not
next to him. He calls out to her, but then thinks that Paige got to her. He
runs to the door, and when he opens it, Ali's there with flowers- she stepped
out for a couple of minutes. He's panicking and she asks what is wrong. He begs
her not to leave without telling him. She wants to know why he's acting like
that. He says that he's leaving, and she tells him not to remind her. He says
that he didn't know it would feel like that. She says that they promised each
other they wouldn't think about it, they are together, in their own special
place. No one knows where they are. Its just them until the last moment. Its
all the time they have and all the time she needs to memorize him, his face,
the way his skin feels.... They have a sweet moment talking about what makes
them love the other person. They hug and he promises he will always be with
her. She will always be her angel forever.

They are kissing and are getting a little hot and bothered ;-) They make promises that they will never forget each other. Now asleep on the floor, Rafe turns to Alison and whisper that its okay, he's watching over her. He hears something creeping outside and says that whatever it is, its not going to get her. He opens the door and finds Paige on the other side.
March
28: Paige asks Rafe if he's surprised to see her. Angrily, Rafe asks what
she wants. Paige says that she's there to see Alison and he demands to know
what she wants with Alison. Excited, Paige says that she and Alison are related
when all along she thought all her family was gone. She was her purpose to come
back. He asks what purpose she has for Alison. Paige senses Rafe's hostility
and tells her to get out of there. He says that she is not going to put Ali
in the 5th chair- he won't let her.
He reiterates that he wants her to get out of there, and Paige asks what his problem is- what is he afraid of? She figures that Rafe has been talking to Lucy, because Lucy thinks she's going to harm Alison as well! She says she just wants to meet Alison- what is wrong with that? Rafe explains that he say a portrait of a woman who looks exactly like Paige, Rebecca. Paige says that that's the family portrait that was missing from her home. He tells her that he had a dream where he opened the book and saw Alison's name as the 5th chair occupant. He thinks it was a vision of the future. Rafe guesses that it has everything to do with Paige. He says he doesn't buy Paige's act anymore. The chair is still empty and he's not going to let her fill it with Alison. Paige insists that the last thing in the world is that she wants Ali to die, but even if its her destiny, Rafe can't stop it from happening. He will not stop her from completing her journey, not when she's come so close. She is telling him the truth. She needs to connect to someone and that someone is Alison. She just wants a few moments. Rafe concedes and says that he's going to go in and talk to her. He tells her to wait there for a minute. Inside the barn, Rafe wakes Alison.
Paige
is beginning to get impatient waiting and calls out to Rafe. Getting no answer,
she ventures into the barn. The barn is empty. "Oh, Rafe. What have you
done?" she whispers sadly.
Rafe is dragging Alison through the woods and she demands to know what is going on. He lies and says that he wants to show her something. She says that she is not going another step until he tells her what is really going on.

March 29: (By far the BEST episode of this arc!! Emotions are running high and the 5th chair is revealed) Alison says that Rafe woke her up in that barn like it was on fire, and she wants to know what is going on. He eludes the question saying that he just didn't want to waste anymore time sleeping, but she doesn't buy it. Its obvious that they are running from something- what is it? Rafe says that he just wants to keep her safe. She begs to know what he is keeping her safe from. He finally admits that there is another angel and he is afraid that she will take Alison back with them- that she wants her to fill the 5th chair.
Alison
says that if an angel is coming for her then there's nothing they can do. He
angrily says that he won't let her, and Alison says calmly that they don't know
that its true. She says that they don't have that much time together and she
doesn't want to spend it talking about something they have no control over.
She wants to focus on them. She intends on living to a ripe old age no matter
what life throws at her. She made a promise to him and she will keep his love
for her forever "Because
when an angel loves you, nothing can hurt you." The lightning
and thunder signals his return, and he tells her its time for him to go.
Alison
is crying, holding onto Rafe saying that she can't do this. They need more time!
She looks to the heavens begging for more time, just a little bit more time.
Breaking down, she tells Rafe that he promised her they would have more time,
and he apologizes as they hold each other. She says that she feels like she
needs to do something. Rafe tells her that they both have their love to hold
onto and they will carry their love always. She begs for him to stay longer,
but he steps back and away from Alison holding back his own tears. He screams
out that he loves Alison Barrington and tells her that he will love her forever
as white light enveloppes him into the forest's darkness. Alison falls to her
knees, crying and says that she will love him forever.

Stumbling through the forest, Alison falls onto railway tracks. Crying she begs for him to come back. A train whistle is heard in the distance and she looks up into the light of the train and says that Rafe was right! She is going to die! A female voice screams her name out, and in a flash of blonde hair, Alison is pulled from the tracks. On the ground, Alison looks up in shock and sees Paige. Smiling, Paige says that that is why she was here, and disappears in a flash of white light.
Up
in heaven, the 4 angels sit at the table. Paige arrives last and Rafe thanks
her and says that he should never have doubted her. Paige smiles and shrugs
saying "who knew." Rafe turns to Ed and says that they are all there-
no one came with them. Casey pipes in and says that that means that no one is
going to be sitting in the fifth chair. Another boom of thunder, the angels
look around realizing that it means their numbers have increased. Ed welcomes
the newcomer and says they have been waiting. The camera pans upward to the
face of the newest angel- Eve.
On a personal note: my uncle who was visiting for Good Friday was making fun of me for watching "Port Charlotte" couldn't utter one joke after the compelling Rali scene when Rafe disappeared. That and when Eve was revealed to be the 5th chair my "OH MY GOD!! NO WAY!!" got the whole house running! LOL!!
