Awards
The Betting Shop Results Final teams Player Review Raju’s Final Thoughts
Every big events has awards, and although we don't get any physical awards, the recognition is worth it. In addition to the awards I listed on the betting website, I have listeed a few more, just for the sake of it. Here goes, starting with the obvious:
The Stellar* sponsored League winners:
Mortlake
The Dinnerladies Charity Tea Cup Winners:
Battersea
The Pierluigi Collina (lightbulb) award for best light saving, no refereeing:
| 1st | Sam |
| = | Ali |
| 3rd | Oliver |
The Hugh Dallas award for blind and power tripping refereeing:
None other than megalomaniac, Ben Thompson
The Gary Lineker (Tap in) Award for Best Goal:
| 1st | Jonathan (a drop volley from his own line passing all and going through mid goal, mid height) |
| 2nd | Deepak (a powerful aimed shot from distance) |
| 3rd | Ben (the only ball that Ben played well!) |
Controversy has arisen as I have put a couple of flukey goals in the top three. I know they weren't meant to go in, but they sure did look good.
The South American Fair Challenge Award (Dirtiest player):
Well only two people come into mind. Edmond is naturally, and Ali normally does, but not during the tournament. A surprise contender did appear in the form of Peter G Brewer, to whom I will give the award.
The Ade Akinbiyi Award for prestine finishing:
| 1. | Sanchou |
7 |
| 2. | George Ahad |
5 |
| = | Raju |
5 |
The Phil Neville Award for amazing participation:
| 1. | George Ahad |
| 2. | Sanchou |
| 3. | Deepak |
Well you will accuse me of strong bias, but I think George Ahad outshines Sanchou, as he did inspire a whole team to perform, whereas Sanchou was a bit more self dependent.
