Performance in Sri Lanka

Pasan had his education at D.S Senanayake College Colombo Sri Lanka before he migrated to Australia in 2005. He represented the D.S Senanyake College under 11 school chess team being only at the age of 07 years.

Pasan was a member of the DS Senanayake College chess team that placed third in the Western Province in All Island Inter School Chess Championships conducted by the Sri Lanka School Chess Association in 2004. Moreover he won an award for being best at the "Board No 07".

National Youth Chess Champion of Sri Lanka(under 8)

The significant point of the career of Pasan is his performance at the National Youth Championships of Sri Lanka in 2004. Having won the Western Province title he was qualified for the finals at Kegalle Sri Lanka. He took the title with ease having been unbeaten throughout the tournament. The win at the National Youth Champinoships earned him a place to represent Sri Lanka at the Asian Youth Chess Championships held in Singapore in 2004.
