Poems About EMS

Code Of The Rescueman

It is my duty to save lives and
to aid the injured.
I will be prepared at all
times to perform this duty
quickly and efficiently,
placing it before
personal desires and comforts.
These things I do that others may LIVE.

EMT PRAYER

God...grant me the ability to give
Emergency care
With skillful hands, knowledgeable mind,
And tender love and care.
Help me deal with everything,
When lives are on the line
To see the worst, administer aid, and
Ease a worried mind.
So help me as I go today
Accept what fate may be.
Touch these hands, use this mind,
Help this EMT.

EMS Prayer

As I perform my duty Lord,
Whatever be the call.
Help to guide and keep me safe,
From dangers big and small.
I want to serve and do my best,
No matter what the scene.
I pledge to keep my skills refined,
My judgement quick and keen.
This calling to give of myself,
Most do not understand.
But I stand ready all the time,
To help my fellow man.
To have a chance to help a child,
Restore his laugh with glee.
A word of thanks I might not hear,
But knowing is enough for me.
The praise of men is fine for some,
But I feel truly blessed,
That you, Oh Lord, have chosen me,
To serve in EMS.

SUPPORT YOUR RESCUE SQUAD

BY: JASON LILES - Squad Member

The faint beat of an infant's heart
And your mind is screaming
what can I do?
The horror of an eight-car
pile-up with severe injuries
And you're thinking can I
get there in time to save everyone?
A blazing, rushing inferno
that is devouring everyone and
everything in its path.
Do you try and save the
small cuddly puppy from sure death?
Of course, because you save lives.
Whirling, killer tornadoes
ripping whole towns apart.
We get the call. We face
the deadly winds for someone else's
life.
Severe flooding and your
rescue vehicle stalled.
What do you do?
Swim to the heart attack victim?
All of these things the
Rescue Squads do or wish we could
do, just to save another life.
Help us to do all we arecapable of.
Support your local Rescue Squad.
Because safety belts save lives
and so do we.

TO REMEMBER ME

AUTHOR UNKNOWN

At a certain moment a doctor will determine
that my brain has ceased to function and that for
all intents and purposes, my life has stopped.
When that happens, do not attempt to instill
artificial life into my body by the use of a
machine, and don't call this
my deathbed. Call it my "bed of life" and let my
body be taken from it to help others lead fuller
lives.
Give my sight to a man who has never seen a
sunrise, a baby's face, or the love in the eyes of
a woman.
Give my heart to a person whose own heart has
caused nothing but endless days of pain.
Give my blood to the teenager who has been
pulled from the wreakage of his car, so that he
might live to see his grandchildren play.
Give my kidneys to one who depends on a
machine to exist from week to week.
Take my bones, every muscle, every fiber and
nerve in my body and find a way to make a
crippled child walk.
Explore every corner of my brain, take my cells,
and let them grow so that someday a speechless
boy will shout at the crack of a bat and a deaf
girl will hear the sound of rain against her
windows.
Burn what is left of me and scatter the ashes to
the winds to help the flowers grow.
If you must bury something, let it be my faults,
my weaknesses, and all
my prejudice against my fellow man.
Give my sins to the Devil. Give my soul to God.
If, by chance, you wish to remember me, do it
with a kind deed or word to someone who needs
you.
If you do all I have asked, I will live forever.
