About Our Squad

The Rainsville Rescue Squad was originally formed in October of 1962 when the proper papers were filed in the Dekalb County Probate Judge's office. Three of the founding members were: Johnny Plunkett-first captain and now a lifetime member; Leonard Yates- honorary; Clifford Cargle-honorary.

At present day we serve the town of Rainsville and surrounding communities as we are requested. We provide the following services for our community and others at request: Search & Rescue; Water Recovery; Extrication; Cave Rescue; Rope Rescue; and Backup EMS(first response). Please visit us often. I will be updating and adding new things to our site on a regular basis.

We are Proud members of Alabama Association of Rescue Squad and the DeKalb County EMS Council.
