Back from all the shows, including an impuslive trip
for yet another show in Maryland...Kerri went happily along with me.
Such a sweet girl. She insisted on giving me money for driving and
letting her stay at my room for a couple nights and all that such...I told
here repeatedly I really couldn't take it..but she insisted. Of course,
that money is gone now, miscellaneous things--candles, cigars, soap, envelopes,
jack daniels...same old story...
The show was simply incredible--best one of the four.
DC traffic in the rain made us wait 1.5 hours to get through the 495 beltway,
then We got there and *bam* scalper with tickets right there--wonderful
luck, he sold us tix for face value...a common thing so far on this tour...it's
freaked me out really. My only guess is police are more strict on
them out here...I was seriously conisdering not even trying to tape getting
there so late, but we got tickets so soon i figured I'd at least try to
get in with the stuff...so i got in easily as ever and set up in the bathroom
in record time, despite having forgotten my fanny pack i usually use...The
seats were crappy, second to last row in the reserved seating, but we snuck
down to lower reserved, like fourth row stage right in fron if the stacks...and
God was with us as no-one came to claim those seats during Tori's set...just
about the only seats that didn't get claimed it seemed...the show rocked,
the tape cmae out well, and PT was canceled the next day so, after two
hours of sleep, i got to come home and sleep for another hour...got me
through the day. Took Kerri to the greyhound station at lunchtime
the next day...
Dan and I went out to Hooters for dinner...poor man is depressed to be back at work in the 82nd airborne...it's a common post leave symptom soldiers get...going back to work thursday for me sucked so I know how he felt...Today was BOSS (Better opportunities for single soldiers) day so I got over...although we had some good PT this morning...SFC Krause thanked me for taking the lead on the run back...set a much faster pace than I think Sergeant Greiner wanted and he had to slow us down...but i was dyign at that slow a pace...
There's a weak keg party going on outside the SCB (soldier community building)...but I'm not there. I paid three bucks for a cup of beer that I ended up just pouring out in my toilet--bud light...yuck, what a waste of money. The party is pathetic.
Listening to my tapes, I'm pretty much happy with how they all turned out. The mix is pretty damn good on all of them, and it's just an issue of being talking once in a while that is kind of annoying...I talked to the people at Circuit City today, and, if anything else goes wrong with this computer after I get the disck drive fixed, they have to, by Carolina Lemon Law, exchange it for something else...well, I am almost certain something else will go wrong-the modem seems as if its heading dow nthe sae mroad it bean when I got it to begin with so...I'll have a desktop with more power and a bigger hard drive to do some digital editing of that tennessee show with soon...I'm taking this beast in tomorrow so I won't be updating here for the next week or so.
I'm tired so that'll be it for tonight. I'm going to sleep very soon.
