I've started the resolution of my problems with Ford Credit.
Fort Sill National Bank is sending me
statements documenting all the overdraft charges that
have accrued due to the extra $400 Ford took out of
my last $350 check...And it's funny in a way, both funny
ha ha and funny strange, to consider I can't get
the women who helped me down at the Credit office outta
my head...Marlene--such an odd coencidence if
thigns become fruitfull...Marlene is the name of Uncle
Bill's first wife. Let me simply say that their divorce
case, Vomacka vs. Vomacka, is on file with the Supreme
Court of California...not a pretty picture. Couple
this with my current MOS in legal, and I'm thinking Bill
might think ill towards me...actually I know he
wouldn't really. Bill is a really good man, much
like my father, much like my uncle John. In fact, there
was really only one bad apple out of my fathers family,
and he seems to have reformed himself immensely
in the pat few years...
I haven't updated in quite some time, I know. The
reason boils down to computer trouble. The modem in
my Compaq 1670 notebook was fritzing out on me...i tried
to fight it but it was no use. I took the
computer into service last Thursday, my birthday, and
just got it back a few hours ago. Well, the problem
seems solved with a brand new modem installed...
A lot of thigns have gone undocumented these past several
days--namely Marlene, whom I plan to ask out
once I go back with these papers from my bank.
It's strange to think that, even though I've always told me
friends blondes don't seem my type, it seems the women
i continually develop addictions to are blonde...go
figure. There will be more on her later if thigns
develop.
Work's been all right--the same old run-around, literally...flipping
back and forth from office to office with
SPC Phelps gone back to PLDC for a second chance, article
15's, chapter actions, line of duty
investigations, etc...
PT test last Thursday == 100 pushups (I kidn of cheated
by not going down all the way...but the grader
coutned them so...), 58 situps 9alwasy my weak spot),
and a 12:50 on the run. So a 270+ and it's good for a
three day pass...although who knows when I'll get a chance
to use it--we have so many passes coming up
lately it's not even funny. Next weekend (TORI!!)
is a four day weekend, which I'm extending to a six day
by taking tuesday and wednesday off to recover/see the
Charlotte show...I'm giving a ride to some girl from
the Sat show to the Sun show. There was going to
be another strap hanger in kacy, but she found another
ride. Jennifer is riding in her own coche, going
down early with her boyfriend/fiance to some resort or
something...Me, I'm staying in a youth hostel Sat night,
shelling out fifteen whole entire dollars...damn i
love hostels --when all you want is a place to sleep
for a cheap price, they're perfect!
I got my stuff Mom and Dad had shipped out this way--my
golf clubs, my DATs, my home DAT deck, golf
clubs :) (my plan this wknd), and clothes.
Dad also found a couple diskettes I've been wanting--they have
additional documents for the journal--including the pictures
from my trip to Maui last year (wahoo!) So
once I have my computer back up to speed, those will
be finding their way online too.
Dave went with a couple friend to CLub Zone, a club up
in Raleigh. I went along last week on my birthday,
despite having to be at PT formation the next morning
(which to my great delight was decided to be "PT on
your own day" once we all got there !). It was
an alright time, but it made me realize how "not" the club
type person I am. I actually had a couple girls
tell me to go away, that I was "bothering them"...that was
so embarrassing and I didn't tell Dave or anyone else
that one. What a shot to the kidneys of my pride that
was...As if I don't normally feel enough of a troll as
it is...But the night was not a total loss...I had a very
fine cigar (Cohiba) which I immediately decided was the
best I'd ever had, and I finished a forlorn poem I'd
started earlier that evening at the Coffee Scene In Fayetville...
The AC's gone out in the billets once again. This
time though, I got smart and I'm borrowing the big 'ol
fan SFC Krause brought into the office a while back...it
reminds me of the type we used to have back in
Dublin, when I was just a wee little lad. Being
24 is nothing different, and I knew it wouldn't be any change
so I accepted the day nonchalantly. I could sit
here and wax poetic at all the accomplishments I could have
made in those 24 years, all the things I've missed, all
the trails I've bypassed, but why bother. My future is
ahead, my past is behind, as it has always been and will
always be.
I went to see GWAR Saturday down at the House of Blues
in Myrtle Beach. It was a pretty good show--I
cam away dripping red koolaid such dye, with a new GWAR
shirt as a momento...the show in Palo Alto at
the Edge Nightclub was far superior though--the venue
was smaller, the people were more packed--the mosh
pit was more rampit...and it was my first time...nonetheless
it was well worth the price of admission. The
venue is located near a massive outdoor mall centered
around a small pond/lake, and I found a cool little
cigar shop where I picked up a Don Thomas, my fasvorite
cigar for the price range i usually go for. I
smoked it after dinner at the Red Board Brewery, hmmmm,
happy hour :) I got myself quite toasted there
a couple hours before the show...
Gone out with Dan a few times in the past couple weeks.
Last night we went to eat at Monteray's,
definately my favorite Mexican resteraunt out here--been
there three times now and alwasy overwhelmed by
the quantities and the quality...We saw The 6th Sense
Sunday. I really liked it, but Dan was perturbed by
the ending...which, to me, made total sense. I
liked the whole premise behind the ending, how it really fit
the mood of the rest of the movie. Dan felt cheated.
*Shrug*
Last night after Dan and I ate, I went to pick up a cigar
and ran into Garcia from BCT and Airborne
School on the way home. He gave me his pager number...
Let's see, I was manifested on yet another jump that got
scrapped, I was pace keeper with SGT Horn on the
Brigade Run this morning (a pathetic 4 miles run at 9
min miles...which pace the bde couldn't even
keep...we were at least a min and half away from the
end when we stopped running and began the cool
down march...but at least HHD took the spirit baner for
motivation), CPT Snow already wants me
promoted to SPC and isn't too happy I have so long to
go...17 more months if they can't get a waver of
time in service for me (which would knock it down to
6 more months), got my MO out in the mail for that
Chicago ticket Sept 11 (another 3 day weekend I think...or
at least I'll probably take my PT test one if not)
and I have purchased a rond trip ticket for $300 to visit
home Sept 30th-Oct 7th...Alex will be in town
during that time so it's a dual purpose trip...to see
him and mom, dad, justine, katrina, and ron.
but i should probably try to get to bed now. it's
0106 and I hafta get up in six and a half hours...no PT
tomorrow--Brigade Organizational day out at Smith Lake
(wahoo!). I'm either playing volleyball or
basketball for HHD...
