Another day on “pass” - in quotes because no one has actually specified our pass status…so if we get in trouble, we be pleading ignorance. Saw Chappel at chow – made plans for the bowling alley, but that never happened.
Did laundry & shined my boots, met the other roomies who are leaving next week, met another women, Trish playing pool, but a catch – she actually lived in Antioch a couple years…knew at least one band guy I knew vaguely…She leaves Friday – so many ppl here are leaving…
Met DS Teope briefly – seemed a little hardcore, but no more than say DS Ellington…but unlike DS Bruyant, definitely not trying to be friends…I’ll miss those DSs, Bryant & Drudy specifically…Wynder & Redd a bit too…2200 lights out – showered & Tricep Pted.
Wakeup at 0600 due to Holiday (!) Guy in this room (everyone in here is a 71 D) got airborne…apparently airborne recruiters come to class in the 1st couple weeks! Yes major score…just hafta play past the color blind snafu…I was told that just basic distinguishing is req’d so I’m good…
Another guy, Puentes (300 PT) was in the reserves, but his unit got activated – now he’s off to Bosnia! I can only hope (?) that something similar happens to me…
Already feel blessed to have this partition between me and the doorway to the hallway (no door & lights stay on all night)
SO it seems Columbia is not the hotbed of activity I’d hoped for, but at least there are trees – lots of trees, and I did hit the Columbia Museum of Fine Art – special exhibit (although prints—reproductions) of Dutch Artists…saw some painting we studied in Art %LS at LMC in the Renaissance section – that was beautiful.
Inkelaar has begun to bore me w/ his talk of Marvel Super Heroes & Comic Books…*sigh*…what to do…the guy is about as much a geek now as I was in jr. high…
Night night now…
Ah, blessed sleep.
