TERMS
This section is dedicated to some standard terms associated with queer (sorry if this term offends anyone) peoples, issues, etc.. If you have any to add e-mail them to me at: [email protected]
Transsexual - a Transsexual man or woman has an intutive, life-long conviction that he or she is really of the opposite gender to that assigned at birth. They may be driven to modify their body by means of "corrective" medical intervention so that the body (sex) can be in sync with the mind (gender).
Transgendered - Mostly applies to masculine dykes. but can also describe effeminate/ feminine men whg are androgynous psychologically and/or physically. Transgendered people, as a rule, do not desire to alter their bodies by means of hormones and/or surgery, focussing instead on expanding their gender identity mentally and expressing their gender role through non-binary ("third gender/third sex") behaviour. In some cases, however, a Transgendered person might move through the sexual-gender spectrum to subsequently identify as Transsexual. To confuse this issue more, some Transsexual people also identify as Transgendered.
