A Shot out of Heaven

By:Joyce Hedrick

I don't understand why love hurts so much,
My arms ache to hold you, to feel your gentle touch.
We had a love that was warm, soft and kind
A beautiful love, to bad it was blind.
I was working so hard to surround you with love,
With your arms around me we fit like a glove.
With one simple greeting, "Hi, what cha know?"
I was shot out of heaven by a terrible blow.
With no air to breath and no wings to fly,
It was a free fall to HELL from my home in the sky.
Eyes are staring, watching my face.
Somebody help me, I'll die in this place.
Bites and scrapes, cuts so bold,
Betrayal is all over me, killing my soul.
The act of adultry wasn't so bad,
Its the cover up lies that makes me so mad.
You turned your back when I needed you here,
The click of the phone still rings in my ear.
I didn't see it coming, it got here to fast,
That fire breathing monster, wanting to pass.
To get up ahead and snuggle right in,
To jump out and eat me because of a sin.
I loved you yeaterday, the same as today,
It would be here tomorrow if I had my way.
Lies kill love and hurts everyone.
Mistakes often happen and can't be undone.
I will get through this bad time on my own,
Cause I know you will reap what you have sewn.
Your laughter grows louder as you drive away.
You left me here stranded so I had to stay.
I thought you was special, a true love you said.
My poor heart is broken, our love is dead.
I wish you the best and hope that you find,
The place I just lost where its warm, soft and kind.
