Quotes 2: Other Planning Applications made to this council and the decisions.
The hypocrisy of this council is clearly shown in the excerpts from various planning applications to Wychavon District Council and the statements made by the Council.  These are from one weeks local paper and this is happening on a very regular basis.

We have sent copies of these to Lord Falconer DETR,  asking him if Mrs Becketts Department at the DETR, are now getting a little frustrated with the amount of appeals being sent to them involving this council.

1/ A long running battle to build six two bedroom three storey homes in Urban Evesham ,
turned down by this council on the grounds that it would have a detrimental effect on the character of the area.   It was claimed, the root system of protected trees could be disturbed. (OUTCOME TO BE DECIDED BY WHITEHALL)
2/ Wychavon District Council claim that two additional flats in Urban Evesham would be out of character, who are reported also to have said, It would be harmful to the character of the terrace and the street scene. The agent claims "The design carefully reflects the mirror end of this terrace" (Outcome an appeal has been lodged with M.Beckett MP)

3/ PLANNERS at Wychavon District Council say they have won an Important battle against inappropriate development in the open countryside. What was it for? A  FACTORY?  NO,  5 houses.  The government planning inspector on appeal by the developers, backed the council,  WHY?? because it was contrary to local Policies and National Guidelines. (This same Government department told us, that the development we are appealing about was not of  National Importance to warrant their intervention, well neither is this Mr Planning Inspectorate)
4/ The landlord of a riverside pub was refused permission to build a Managers bungalow by Wychavon District Council.  WHY?? Because the site was outside the development boundary. Are we seeing double standards being applied to applications??? (OUTCOME An appeal to the DETR)

These stories are appearing on a regular basis and only strengthen our fight with this council,
who appear to apply Local and National standards when it suits them. We suggest you take a look at our quotes page, where you will find this same council stating what they thought about the proposed development we are fighting and the change of character it would bring to this countryside site, so come on WDC tell us what is different!!.

Further stories will appear as and when time permits.
