Destined Virtues
Chapter 11 by Tokumei

He sped across the sea of ink. Nothing could stop him, nothing could touch him. Nothing could defeat him.
I think I'm going to get some answers tonight... Juuni-gou thought as he trailed the stars.
Her eyes were fire. They'd shot open and immediately turned to burning stone.
He's gone, she stated in her mind as she sat up straight and then rose. Rose out into the night to follow him.
Juuni-gou you better not be doing what I think you will... she thought to herself as she, also, flew away into the night.
Somehow, I know this is the right thing to do. He's calling me. I can feel her, now to, coming... my family, Gohan thought to himself as he flew to where he knew he should be.
He landed. It was dark, but it was the middle of early morning. He'd gotten used to being up this late, being the warrior he was at such a young age had many tolls to pay. He'd seen to much bloodshed for a child at the bitter age of 9...
9.
They stood there. One had landed before the other, but they had gotten there just the same.
Jinzouningen.
The small child smiled with delight, wonderment and especially fear. They were shadowed in the darkness of the midnight sky as they lurked over his still short body. It was truly, amazing. It was then that he wondered if they remembered him at all. Surely they did, since they had came to meet him. It was all so unexpected, spontaneous even. Yet, maybe this was the destination of his faith.
She came forward. Wanting all but to harm him. She wanted to hug him, just to see if he were real or her dream. She then wondered if this little boy, which her heart seemed to hold dear, knew his significance.
He visibly flinched. Juuichi-gou seemed to have some kind of an attachment to this boy. He'd wanted to find out by himself, but it looks like she'd follow him to the ends of the earth.
She stepped forward again, closer to him this time. She saw him cower a bit. If she'd known he'd be scared he shouldn't have come, she thought to herself. Juuichi-gou knelt down onto her knees in front of Gohan. It left her quite vulnerable to an attack, but she wanted him to think that if she thought she was a threat, he could hurt her from where he stood.
Gohan backed away a little bit, but when she, his mother, had knelt down to him... he somehow knew he could trust her actions... for now. If it were one very important thought Kuririn and Mr. Piccolo had ever thought him, it was never ever let your guard down when your life is put to risk, even if it's friends or family. His back straightened a bit and he took a step closer. To his great surprise, in all the shadows and darkness there were, she smiled. Her smile seemed to lighten up to spot where they stood and he was so welcomed by it he could hug her and call her "Okaasan" and ask her to never leave... but he settled for what he was about to do. To try and refresh both of their memories.
Juuni-gou had a slight sneer on his hard face. The boy and Juuichi were having some kind of an emotional moment and to his dismay, he didn't understand how Juuichi-hou could stand it. It was true that he liked the boy, he was very strong, but unfortunately, he'd never felt any emotional attachment like Juuichi seemed to have. Maybe she's dreamt about him... he thought to himself as he watched the boy, Gohan, slowly and shakily, a nervous and a bit of a frightened look on his face, lift his hands to Juuichi-gou's head. What's he doing? Juuni thought again as he watched closely and venomously, incase he tried anything to hurt her.
Her eyes wandered all over his childish but stern looking face. He was still a bit afraid, she could see that, but he was also determined. She got startled herself when he placed his hands on the sides of her head. Her smiled faded and was replaced with a questioning look.
"What are you gonna do?" she whispered as to not disturb the peacefulness of the early morning, but he could still hear her curiosity and happiness in her voice. Was this what the voice of a killer sounded like? he asked himself smiling slightly he silently answered himself No. He shushed her and spoke in a small voice. Much like he was a little kid again.
"I'm going to help you remember, everything." he smiled as he whispered back.
Juuichi closed her eyes and let him follow through with his little plan. Gohan ran his hands through her hair. So... this is what my mommy feels like... It should look different... he thought to himself as he caught himself before he started crying. He pulled her hair back, leaving a lock at each side of her face, just how he recalled. It was then that he noticed he had nothing to tie her hair with. Gohan looked down at his gi, and decided. He ripped a piece of his gi of and began to roll it to make it look less messy. All the while, Juuichi kept her eyes closed.
Juuni-gou did not look so comfortable. What is he doing? Why is he touching her?
He looked on as that boy and Juuichi-gou sat together perfectly happy with the circumstances. He didn't like how this was going one bit.
"There," Gohan said, a little bit louder than a whisper and sat back to admire his good work. This was the Okaasan that he'd known, he was sure of it.
Juuichi's eyes slid open with grace as she felt her once loose tendrils of hair now onto of her head. She smiled instantly that touched the locks at the side of her face.
"I love it," she said, still sitting on the ground in front of him. It seemed this midnight outing had let her get closer to this dream, Gohan.
"You look... beautiful..." Gohan smiled when Juuichi-gou gave him a look of pure gratitude. "...Okaasan." He'd probably shouldn't have said what he had afterward though he thought.
Juuni-gou was always a bit overprotective of his love, Juuichi, this very well could have gotten Gohan killed. "What did you say??!" he yelled as he appeared in between Juuichi and Gohan. Gohan had never looked so frightened in his life.
"Otousan! Please... Don't hurt me!!!" Gohan realized that he'd let another wrong thing to say slip.
The jinzouningen just stood shocked as they watched the young boy cower and then become very silent. "I asked you a question, Gohan," Juuni-gou asked with a sense of softness but still very sternly. He knew he was a human, therefore an enemy and even though he was fully capable of killing him. He wasn't about to kill a young boy who had just called him Father...
Gohan gulped and sat up straight again, still fear stricken and definitely regretting his midnight visit with the most dangerous people on the planet and his foes...
"I said your names are Son Goku and Son ChiChi, and I am your son... Gohan."
