Destined Virtues
Chapter 10 by Tokumei
Kibon
Begins to scream.
She begins to scream with relentless heart aching cries in his heart and ears. His mind knew that he couldn't stop it. It would continue to haunt him for the few moments of his own free mind would have left. His mind also knew that his heart was stronger and would fight his inner turmoil with every waking beat of its existence.
"ChiChi!"
It seemed to beat her name, even though it was his mind that was calling her... his heart called stronger.
She wouldn't be his any longer. She was drifting away and becoming something he dreaded. He would probably join her. But why!? his mind screamed as she screamed. They began the scream.
His heart stopped when he felt hers beat no more.
Juuni-gou woke from his menacing nightmare. He'd woken up like this every time since he'd somehow existed under Dr. Gero's rule. Not knowing how he was his servant, only knowing that he was.
Not anymore.
So why did they haunt him even more? Every time he closed his physical eyes, his minds eye would show him this living nightmare again and again to him.
Was it real? was what he asked himself every single time he awoke.
His physical eyes wondered over to his sleeping princess. ChiChi?
Could that be her real name? The name his heart beats time and time again in the dream?
She'd gotten angry at him, all about that kid, Gohan...
Gohan... his mind muttered as he got up from his resting place and pulled on a tank top.
He smiled faintly. "Gohan, you are one lucky boy..." And flew out into the midnight sky.
They set foot into their new abode. All of them, each one, having their own story to tell.
Warriors.
Gohan had so much on his mind still that he still did not pay heed to Bumla's dire words.
"This is our new home and training base. You do NOT, EVER, venture out of the 2 mile radius around this fortress. We spent months getting this place ready for you guys." Bulma looked a little unnerved as she said these words.
"Why did you do all of this Bulma? We have no chance..." Kuririn, had always had a low self esteem.
For once, Yamucha steeped into Kuririn's realizations. They'd had such blind hope. All of them.
"We'd all love to get rid of the jinzoungen... but..." Yamucha couldn't bring himself to say it.
"It's never a matter of want. We have to. We must. We have no cause for anything else anymore. Just this. Just to survive..."
Bulma had always been defiant.
The warriors went their separate ways throughout the fortress of technology, training rooms and such.
Gohan had been defiant in a different way.
I'm coming... he said to his unseen friend. The friend that called him into the shadows he'd never set foot into before. His shadowed destination.
I'm coming, father.
