Sony has made dramatic camera upgrades to traditional camera design making this camera very special and unique during operation. Sony eliminated the traditional mirror refraction system for the viewfinder. With that out of the way they could drastically enlarge the sensor to 12 times the size of most digital cameras. For getting that critical shot the Sony R1 beat out the other cameras. This camera is unique in every way. Not just the way it looks but to have the control to know what the picture is going to be before I even take the picture is very important. None of the other high-end SLR cameras have this capability. Although it doesn't rapid fire as long as the others, every picture it takes is breathtaking and it features full manual control with manual features in the same places as the Canon pro cameras. Extra add on telephoto and macro lens do add on to this fixed lens, and a new LCD ring light that mounts around the lens for non-shadow close-ups and external long shot add on flash give me all the features I need for any situation photo shoot.
