My Toastmasters involvements have shown an intelligent side of me. Somehow I want to explore the taboo topics such as politics, sex, and religion which Toastmasters commonly avoid. As a district officer, I have to watch my image. Some people like to see their leaders always in professional mode.
On the other hand: comedy, unlike 'business' talks, no matter how rough or nasty you go, there is an audience somewhere down south would appreciate you. Of course, the 'clean mouth' comedians like me enjoy more TV presence. We save program editors a lot of troubles to overlay the 'beeps'.
There are no rules in comedy but one: It has to be funny! That is all.
If I can make people laugh when they are half drunk, what else can't I achieve?
