I Suffered from a weight problem all my life and finally I decided to do something other than diet which didn't seem to get me anywhere, I was a life member of weight watchers only to be stiffled many times by the fact that the weight crept on again and then i'd try and get it of . funny how you find that it is so much easier for it to go on than come off. THE BAND WAS THE WORST THING I EVER DID! |

the Lapband has a little port in where they put saline in to inflate the port. or deflate it , whatever you need at the time , that's why it is adjustable. |

My problems were many and veried first it was a dream come true for me I was going to loose all this weight. I was ill prepared for the journey though, the agonising pain when you ate too much, the feeling of getting food stuck in the band, not being able to get it down or up, the burning sensation all the way up my osogus , the indigestion. The only thing that could relieve something stuck was to quickly drink some fizzy lemonade. the band came appart inside me so it was useless.I had it fix....another operation. next time it leaked, the saline came out.so that was no use either. third time I went to have it filled and the port had twisted. after having needles poked into me for an hour with no sucess, i ended up staying in Hospital over night. A few weeks later I went to the hospital in agonizing pain with it and I had to wait 7 hours to be seen and they just gave me some pain killers and sent me home. ENOUGH ! I thought and proceded to find a better solution to my weight problems, granted I had lost 30kgs, but it was starting to creep back on and this being 4 months later I felt well If this is the band I just can't live with it.
So I looked online and found DR Broadbent who helped me. |
