Systems Integration & Product Services (SIPS) Systems integration provides the base for applications like Engineering Automation, Product Data Management, Enterprise Resource Planning & Groupware Systems. Broadly, the SIPS group of Tata Technologies offers services in the following areas: Consulting/Implementation of LAN and WAN. Internet Services Data Centre Management Messaging and GroupWare Implementation WEB Based Workflow Application Development. Special Purpose Software Oracle DBA Oracle Web Based Application Development Training in Data Base Administration, Web Development, Unix. LinkD: The software "LinkD" developed by Tata Technologies provides a virtual connectivity from client machine to server machine Its USP: LinkD software is the only link between the two m/c's. The remote m/c cannot use any other service of the local server machine, such as telnet, FTP etc. Any other machine on the Internet cannot open a connection with the server. If any malicious user on the Internet tries to spoof the network in order to capture the packets exchanged between the 2 m/c's, LinkD Software can detect this spoofing, and will terminate the connection. If a user on the Internet tries to masquerade as the client machine (by assuming the Address of the client machine), this software can detect the same, and will terminate the connection. Mail-Sentry : is a middleware to integrate varied mail-ids into a single company-wide domain address. Additionally it provides features for logging unauthorised user access. Key BenefitsMasquerading: means hiding internal domain names Selective access can be provided to users on the enterprise-wide level Integration of internal and external mailing systems Mail size restrictions can be imposed to prevent network overloading Special security checks Logs any suspicious activity on the E-mail system from unauthorized users Selective snooping capability can be used by the mail administrator The system further provides the capability for a user to send mails from multiple machines FeaturesMulti-threaded application Runs as a service on Windows NT in the background Removes the E-mail headers and replaces with desired domain address Allows connections only from designated hosts on the network SCMF: Source Code Management Facility (SCMF) from Tata Technologies is an intelligent repository on UNIX platforms. SCMF stores elements of source code as incremental upgrades. It collates related units of software elements (source, make files & specification etc.) into projects. All projects are stored and secured in a single repository.Features Software Configuration Management provides a mechanism for identifying, controlling & tracking the versions of each software item that constitutes a software system. Software Configuration supports features like Reporting, Version Control, Process Control, Build Management, Dependency Tracking, Release Management, Change Management and History Tracking. SCMF sets up a hierarchy of roles/classes through which users access elements. Users can only carry out actions as privileged by their class/role. SCMF also streamlines the build process by fetching element from the repository and using correct compilers, libraries. This establishes discipline and control over the process of developing and deploying applications. SCMF keeps track of various user actions and changes to the elements. Benefits SCMF offers you control over your development process and beyond. Operational teams can revert to previous versions of applications or generate any past versions of their applications without intervention for the development team. Please contact us for the "SCMF Information Kit" with presentations, white papers, FAQs, commercial terms, support policy, case studies, ScreenCams and more. NetLp: The Client Server Print Spooler for volume printing. NetLp is a complete solution for typical volume printing needs. The software is best suited for environments with one or more UNIX hosts requiring to print on any of the heavy duty printers located on the network. NetLp Architecture
A maximum of 3 printers can connect to
every NetLp Server. With the system allowing 10 servers, a bank of 30 centralized printers
can be supported. The administrators and users issue simple commands to achieve desired
print actions. Features Users can print to a printer group rather than waiting for a printer to be free. Every print request is printed on the correct type of stationary. Users can print selective parts, based on page numbers or a search string. A live print request can be moved forward or backward without physical access. Priority assigned to a print request can be changed to speed up its request. Accurate status of all printers & print requests is available online. A log of print requests and print actions is maintained for usage accounting. The NetLp system is flexible and can be configured by NetLp administrators. In
