*Results and Updates*
(April 2003)  Wow, the whole race team has been working constantly for this new season.  So much has been going on.  John got his new Rotax Max Jr kart and has been working to maintain it constantly.  Dad has been trying to help, but has found himself having to re-learn alot of stuff for these new karts.  Mary does not have a kart of her own at the time, so she have been renting a kart from SpeedQuest Karting until she can find one that is the right size.  In addition to the regular Rotax schedual, John and Mary (with Dad as crew chief of course) joined 2 other karters to run a 6 hour endurance race.  We finished up second overall, which put us ahead of a team flown in from Portugal and the world-famous Brumos Porsche.  Fun fun fun!!!  It was a blast for everyone involved.  Thanks Drew and Ennis, ya'll are awesome team mates!  Every Sunday night the Mossey Motorsports team speeds back from Florida to race Sunday night at an indoor karting venue, Andretti Speedlab.  The whole mini-series is alot of fun and a great way to clock in more seat time.  Red Bull energy drink has launched a nationwide driver search to find the next AMERICAN Formula 1 driver.  Mary made it to round 2 of the competition and am exremely excited to participate at Lowe's Motorspeedway in July.  The competition should prove to be a great way to make some contacts, learn, and make Mery extremely nervous.  Go to www.redbulldriversearch.com to learn more about the whole process.  In late June, 3 other karting guys and Mary will participate in another 6 hour long endurance race at Lowe's Motorspeedway to get some time at the track before the big Red Bull event.  The summer should prove exciting, educational, and busy.  We will try to keep everyone updated on the events!
(Early August 2003)  The season progresses slowly, but surely.  With each passing race, the whole team learns something new and confusing.  The Jacksonville series has completed 4 of 5 races, and John sits in 4th but with several competitors sitting on his tail.  It will come down to the wire.  Top 5 go to Nationals in Texas and John will fight for it to the end.  Ocala has completed 3 out of 5 races and Mary also sits in 4th position.  Both the Jacksonville and Ocala tracks seem to have a thing for raining almost every weekend.  "Sunny Florida" seems to be false advertisement.  At least rain racing teaches kart control, and the team has perfected conversions to the rain set up in 20 minutes.  Mary finally got her own kart.  She managed to get the sister kart (no pun intended) to John's kart.  Each passing week shows another step towards improvement.  Too learn more about Mary's adventures with the Red Bull race, click here!
To take up time on the weekend that Rotaxs don't race, John and Mary both race at an indoor kart league at Andretti speedlab.  The sibling team started out on the GT 2 level and finished the season 1 and 2 in points and were bumped up to GT1 for the next season.  Although they have missed too many races to participate in points, both have continually improved their personal bests.  John recently set the fastest time for the track EVER with a 28.79 and Mary hit her personal best at a 29.21.  The league is a great way to get seat time, and be social in a casual environment.  Check out www.procupkarting.com for more info.
