Messenger Plus!

A great free add-on, coded in C++. Adds many features to Messenger, including the ability to send coloured texts, set custom statuses, use sound effects, use colours and newlines in display names, and many more besides. The site also has a very active forum, where hundreds of members (myself included) are willing to discuss just about anything Messenger-related (and a few things besides). If you have a problem, make use of the forum: someone will try to help, guaranteed!

Don't mess with <insert something here>, mess with MSN Messenger. Site full of information about customising Messenger, as well as some tricks to get even more out of MSN's little IM client.

Audiator

Probably the best sound-plugin for Messenger Plus!. Instead of doing what most sound plugins do, and wrapping up the sounds inside the code file, this plugin allows you to add sounds to it, merely by telling it whewre the file is, and the command you wish to assign to it!
