| Beginning on March 12, 2003 four members of Colorado College's cross country and track teams will attempt to run a timed mile, on a track, in each of the lower 48 states. The catch is we have to be back in time for class on March 24th. This site will be updated daily from the road with on-line journals, (hopefully) pictures, and our current location. Check out the complete itinerary and find out if we'll be near you and come join us. Also, look for our occasional updates on the trip at www.runnersworld.com. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Well we've run in something like 12 states in the last 48 hours and sleep deprivation / fatigue have begun to set in pretty well. But we're still hitting our times and generally having a good time. This has meant that the last couple days have been the highest in mileage yet, and that our schedule has included many early, early morning stops at dark tracks. Possibly the most significant of these stops has been those involving our four state tour of the Ivy League. On March 18th and 19th we hit Harvard University at 5:30 p.m., Brown University at 11:30 p.m., Yale University at 1:30 a.m. and Princeton University at 4:00 a.m. A few changes in our plans have been necessary. We decided that if Washington D.C. doesn't have representation in the Senate, then they shouldn't have it in our trip, so they're out. Also, we've been changing a lot of stops in order to make stuff a little faster. This has proved to be a necessary if we have any desire to return to Colorado Springs in time for class on Monday morning. |
