FAT INTAKE 

 

        By choosing foods that are lower in fat you may be able to eat more than before and maintain your current weight because fat is a very concentrated form of calories. This means that by enjoying more grains, bread, cereals, fruits and vegetables and less fat, you do not starve or deprive yourself while eating healthy. Nutrient recommendation suggest all should cut back on the amount of fat that they eat so that any 30% of the days calories from fat. Some experts recommend that people who already have some form of cardiovascular disease lower their fat intake even further to levels as low as 10-20% of the days calories.


RECOMMENDED HEALTH FAT INTAKE FOR A DAY (IN GRAMS) 


    The average man, age 13-74 years of age, who require between 2300-3000 cal/day should not be eating more than 30% of his calories from fat. This is equal to 30 grams or less. The average women, age 13-74 years of age, who require between 1800-2100 cal/day should not be eating more than 30% of her calories from fat. This is equal to 65 gram or less.
