The alimentary canal           its asociates

1-Mouth                                1-salivary gland

2-Pharynx                             2-the liver

3-Oesophagus                       3-the pancreas

4-Stomach

5-Small intestine

6-Large intestine

7-anus

*Digestion :breaking down complicated food substances to simple water soluble substances.

*Absorption:The moving of digested food from the small intestine to the blood.

·       The digestion and absorption of food is completed in the small intestine.

·       People infected by Anklystoma  suffer from anaemia .

·      Keeping digestive system healthy:

1-keep your hands  clean.

2-keep your food clean.

3-brush your  teeth after eating .

4-food should contain vegetables.

5-do fill your stomach .

** Functions:

1-salivary glands :produce saliva in mouth that converts starch to simple sugar.

2-liver:It produces the bile that helps in digestion of fats.

3-The bile:It breaks down fat into small particles which dissolve in water .

4-Pancreas :It produce enzymes to help in food digestion .

5-Large intestine : It stores the undigested food till it is eliminated from the body through the anus.

6-Oesophagus : It permits the food to pass from the pharynx to stomach .

7-Pharynx:it permits food to pass from the mouth to oesophagus.

8-Digestive system: digestion and absorption of food .

9-Mouth:Chewing food by teeth .and the starch changed into simple sugar by saliva .

10-Small intestine:

1-The food is completely digisted in it.

2-It absorbs the digested food  and passes it into  the blood stream.

11-Stomach:produce enzymes to  help in food digestion.

** The stools of infected person by Anklystoma is mixed with blood because these worms feed on the intestine membrane.

·      Symptoms of anklystoma are:

1-Bleeding and bloody stools.

2-People infected by it suffer from anaemia..
