EUROHOCKEY CLUB CHAMPIONS CHALLENGE (WOMEN) 2006 & EUROHOCKEY CLUB CHAMPIONS CHALLENGE II (MEN) 2006 Eliniko, Athens (GRE), 2 - 5 June 2006 DAY 1 |
In the first day of the tournament, Rabat's two opponents in the group stage clashed together. This gave the opportunity to the Maltese team to examine their opponents and get a feel of what they will be up against on Saturday.
The Slovakian side KPH Raca dominated the first game as is suggested by the scoreline, defeating Lithuanians Vilnius Ardas-Rudamina by 8 goals to nil. Rabat Depiro will be facing the Lithuanians in their first match of the tournament and a good result is expected from the Maltese contingent after watching this game.

Another note worthy of mention is that Maltese umpire Reno Cremona was a reserve umpire in the game between Napaios Apollon and ESOBGA. It is not yet known what matches Mr. Cremona has been appointed to officiate but he will probably get his first appointment on Saturday.
