You're out for a Sunday drive. It's a beautiful summer day and you can feel the warm sun and smell the flowers in the air. You're on a country road traveling at a leisurely 30 miles per hour listening to some classical jazz (sounds like Dave Brubeck's Take Five). Then you notice there's a bee sitting on the hood of your car.
Far down the road another car is approaching you, also traveling at 30 miles per hour.
While tapping the steering wheel to the beat of the music you happen to hit the horn. This occurs when the approaching car is exactly 60 miles away.
The startled bee takes off and starts flying toward the other car at 70 miles per hour (yes, it's a fast bee). Exactly when he reaches the other car the bee turns around and starts flying back toward your car (yes, it's also a bizarre bee). The bee continues until the cars pass.
How far has the bee traveled?
