| A mixture of seeds or pellets specially made for rodents is a good choice. I use a plain kind of hamster mix. They need fresh water every day which should be given to them in a water bottle. Do not use a bowl for water. The mice will use it as a toilet and also kick bedding into it. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Mice are really easy to breed. Just put a male and female together and in about one month the female will have babies. You will need to remove the male as soon as it is obvious that the female is pregnant. You do this because after the babies are born the male will try to mate with the female again causing the female a lot of stress. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A ten gallon tank is great for mice. A hamster habitat will work also (but it's harder to clean). Make sure that you give your mice a wheel because they need exercise. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Babies are weaned at 4 weeks old. If you are keeping them you will want to separate the male babies from the females because they will breed. Just wait a week or so and then put the male (the father) in. Don't let the male babies breed with their mother. Inbreeding results in deformed animals. Not right away but if you keep inbreeding you will have problems. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
