| Good News For the Blues Read this prayerfully, in the spirit, so that you may recieve all that God has for you. Frequently, we hear about someone who has a lot of money, but commits suicide because they have no hope left. Then how many people do we know who say, "If only I had more money, I'd be happier" Maybe the two should talk? The truth is, nothing physical or earthly will make you happier. No person on earth can make you truly happier. There is only one way to true happiness. The Love of Jesus Christ, our savior. But how can we believe that when our childhoods were filled with abuse or neglect, our marriages are ending, our children are sick or disobeying, we are broke and unemployed? How can we believe that God would allow us to suffer this way? God is on your side. He loves you and no matter what you may have done, he will never be mad at you! God is our father in heaven, and just like our parents here on Earth, his love is unconditional! If your child steals something, or tells a lie, do you stop loving him? Of course not! But what about when your child grows up and has his own family? His decisions are his own to make, and only when he comes to you needing guidance, do you offer it, right? Well, that is how God is. You can't expect him to just barge into your life and change it for you-or to perform a miracle for you FIRST so you know he exists. No, you must first come to him, surrender to him, open up to him-he is ready and waiting! Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto rightousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" Close your eyes. take a deep breath and open your heart. Then say this: "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. I surrender my life, my sins and my ways to him. Please, dear Lord, come into my life and change it. I realize that I cannot live the kind of life I want to without your guidance. I let go of my past and start a new life, right here right now. Forgive me of my past sins, Lord. Wash me in your blood. I ask this, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen" Now you are saved! Prayer is soo important! It is your only communication with God. And read your bible. You will be surprised at how you can understand it and apply it to your life now! You will see that it really isn't as outdated as you think. But this doesn't mean you won't experience any bad things in your life. Bad things are just a part of life, but with a new spirit of the Lord inside you, you will have the faith you need to believe that bad things are only for a season and you will have the strength to conquer and win! Some doubts you may be having Why do I need to be saved? I am a good person. God does not work on a merit system. He works out of faith and devotion to him! Salvation is a symbol of that! If I become saved, I won't get to do anything fun anymore. With a renewed mind and heart, you'll be very surprised at the things you used to do, that don't interest you anymore.
