Follow The Leader

KoRn

This album is quite simply awesome. Forget Limp Bizkit, forget Slipknot, if you want the Nu-Metal sound, and songs with depth and meaning, then this album by far outsripps everything else in the Nu-Metal arena onjust about every level possible. KoRn have surpassed themselves with the follow up to Life Is Peachy, a rushed, badly produced album which belied their true talent. 12 blank tracks at the beginning mean that this album starts at track 13, for starters an interesting hook for the record. The opening track, Its On! Starts with a whining electric sound before David Silveria estabishes his dominance, and a beat to which Guitarrists Munky and Head can weild their seven string magic. Musically the album departs from KoRn's two previous offerings, with a sharper, more refined edge, and begginning to play the loud-soft Nirvana game almost as hard as Trent Reznor. Lyrically the album blows away the field. Jonathan Davis' devastatingly emotional tones convey a message to the listener that go beyond his previous attempts at songwriting. Deeper, subtler, and more refined, the singer has found a way to convey the innermost working sof his troubled soul to the ear of the fan. The combined development, lyrical and musical have resulted in the spawning of their first truly great album. This will be viewed as one of the finest albums of the decade/century/ever/...
